Changes in Photography over the years


Photography was invented in the 1830's.The first type of photography was the daguerreotype, which requires knowledge at expert level to take pictures. The long exposure times require people to sit still for up to 20 minutes. This made the Daguerreotype impractical for photos and candid portraits. It is mainly used for formal portraits of the families of the upper class.

The modern camera technology is based on was created several hundred years ago in Photography. Although the old ideas were far from the types of cameras that we know, they were far ahead of their time regarding technology and materials at their disposal. It was not until 1885 when George Eastman created the modern technology of film cameras made photography a suitable product for consumers. Eastman Kodak also created the first camera that served to further advance the camera industry and its popularity among consumers.
In the first year of the 20th century 1901, George Eastman took advantage of its own technology and created the brownie. This new camera was the first to have the ability to take snapshots and was small enough to be convenient for camera owners to carry around with them. As a result of its popularity, affordability and small size, the brownie was the favorite that families could take with them on holidays and special occasions to create memories that last a lifetime camera. The brownie was so popular in Photography that it continued to be produced and marketed well into the 1960's.

In 1914, Oskar Barnack experimented with 35 mm film that was used to create movies. Its aim was to create a 35 mm film that could be used in cameras to create still images instead of moving images. Although this technology began in 1914, the problems that occurred with the onset of World War I made more progress impossible for years to come.

Twenty years later, the company Kodak began working on this technology and made several advances that have made it more convenient for the average consumer to use. retina I by Kodak Company was cheaper than other models with similar technology, but it was still more expensive than other mass-produced cameras of the time.

While many companies are trying to create better technology for their cameras in photography, a new type of camera injected onto the scene in 1948. The Polaroid instant camera was attracted many consumers because of their capabilities of instant gratification. People could take a picture with the Polaroid camera and have your photo in just minutes. Although it was more expensive than the other cameras of the time, it was still one of the biggest selling models because people enjoyed their pictures just moments after shooting.

In recent years, digital technology even spread to the photography industry. Although the predecessors of today's digital cameras began in 1972 with a prototype of Texas Instruments, the true digital camera as we know them today it did not occur until 1988 in Japan and then in 1991 in the United States.

 Even after years of technological advances in photography, however, digital cameras cost thousands of dollars well into the next decade. As a result, only professionals and others with high-paying careers photographers had access to high-quality digital cameras. Pixel technology and other aspects of the digital camera, eventually became less expensive and mass produced soon after and were also more affordable as a result.

Cameras have helped change the way our story because we can actually see pictures of things that have happened. We can have a better idea of the events through still images and videos.
Digital photography has made photography more affordable and accessible for everyone.
